Let those arrows fly! Join us at our new indoor archery range!
Embrace your inner medieval warrior by taking up your bow and arrow and sharpening your shooting skills! Channel Legolas and Robin Hood for your next adventure! At the moment we offer target archery as well as archery tag, a fun dodgeball style game where people can safely shoot each other! Our archery range is located at our indoor Ridgeway Adventure Centre, located just 30 mins from Oxford and Reading! (OX11 9DP). Sessions are 60 minutes for 2-10 archers. 8+ ages.
In your 60 minute archery session you’ll have a trained instructor on hand to show you the ropes, and to give you a clear safety briefing before you let those arrows soar! Shooting at our foam target bosses you’ll get the chance to improve your accuracy and play some aim games! We’ll have you feeling like a medieval warrior in no time!
Sessions are suitable for 8+ years. You will need to make sure to wear sturdy closed toe shoes, avoid jewelry including necklaces and piercings, and tie back long hair.
Sessions can be booked back to back with axe throwing dependent on session timings and availability.
All archers are required to complete a risk form before a session, this is available via our website we also have forms at our reception desk to complete before your session. Please arrive 15 minutes before your session is due to start so we can start promptly on time.
Crossbow shooting is available as a £5 per person add on for 14+ years.
We are open 6 days a week from Tuesday to Sunday, typically opening hours are 12-7pm on weekdays, 12-5pm on weekends. Booking in advance is essential. We can host groups of up to 30 people for birthday parties, stag and hen groups as well as teambuilding away days (we can manage larger groups but additional staff are required so get in touch to discuss your needs) . We have packages available for multi-activity days - by booking multiple activities online these discounts are applied automatically by adding multiple activities to your basket with the ‘add more’ button. For groups larger than 10 people, and for availability not listed on our booking site please email us at events@affg.co.uk for a private session.
Our centre is on private land, hence bookings must be made in advance prior to the day, we cannot accept people turning up on the day without a booking. Everyone on site must be 8+ years, younger children should be left at home for safety. We do not have facilities for babes in arms or young children

*We have 5 targets for 10 people shooting at a time. For our public sessions we book for up to 10 people at a time, so on any public session if you have booked fewer than 10 people you may be sharing the session with other participants. For bookings of more than 10 people please get in touch via events@affg.co.uk to book a private session.
**There is a minimum of 6 people required for an archery tag session, with a maximum group of 12. If you have booked for a group of 6 people, you may be joined on your session by another group of 6, in the game these would be the opposing team.
Archery Tag!
Known as combat archery, this is a game where you get to shoot arrows at your friends! We use specially designed foam-tipped arrows, which alongside a safety helmet allows you to safely fire at other people. Archery meets dodgeball, a sort of medieval archery version of paintball. The aim of the game is to hit your opponent with an arrow to eliminate them from the game. There is a safety briefing at the beginning of the session to explain how to safely shoot.
These sessions require a minimum of 6 people booking, a maximum of groups of 12, archery tag is the perfect activity for large groups of friends, as well as birthday parties, stags, hens, and corporate staff parties! As this activity requires a different set up, please email us directly to book an archery tag session. As well as our dodge ball style game there are additional games like duels, that aren’t possible with regular target archery for safety reasons. You can even try and shoot an apple off of someones head!

Archery Tag is perfectly safe, all sessions start with a safety briefing, and all participants have an arm guard and a safety helmet to be worn during a session. The special design of the lightweight foam tipped arrows allows them to be safely shot at people. It’s a bit like being hit by a tennis ball. This is a physical activity like Dodgeball and paintball so the aim of the game is to avoid being hit, and some hits will be worse than others. But if you can withstand a game of tennis, you can cope with an active session of archery tag!
