Have you ever wanted to be in a heist film? Have you ever wanted to hone your skills as a master thief or practice your best acrobatic cat burglar moves? Come along for our brand new state of the art laser maze heist experience!

The Laser maze is a room full of lasers with objects to steal! Like a steady hand game for your whole body, you have to navigate your way through the room without breaking the lasers! Our laser maze is located at our indoor Ridgeway Adventure Centre, located just 30 mins from Oxford and Reading! (OX11 9DP). Sessions are 60 minutes for 2-10 players. 8+ ages.

Dodge the lasers, steal the objects, avoid hitting the beams!

Like something straight out of Oceans 11, when you book a session you will have 60 minutes to practise and perfect your skills navigating through our field of lasers to steal the valuable objects at the end of the maze.

On arrival you will be taken into the laser maze and given a briefing on how the room works, and the room rules, the session is then yours for 60 mins for all players to play however you want, you can take it in turns, or all go at once, however you want to strategise.

What to expect

You can take it in turns to complete the maze and see if you can beat the time of the person before you. Equally the maze can be completed multiple players at a time, once you’re in the room the session is yours to play however you want.

There are additional challenges if you find the course too easy, The blindfold challenge is the hardest of all, one or two participants will be blindfolded whilst the rest of the group guide them through the maze telling them to crouch, step, jump and twist and turn to avoid the lasers without the use of their eyes to help them. The perfect trust test, or teambuilding exercise! There is also the rope challenge, where you have to successfully navigate a rope from one side of the room through the laser field without the rope ever touching the ground, typically for 3+ players., the handcuff challenge, where you have to complete the maze chained to your fellow team mates!

Sessions are 60 minutes to play the game how you’d like, whether you’d like to take it in turns and track every players timings, or if you want to play more than one person at a time, or to jump straight in to some of our challenges.

For maximum enjoyment we have a few rules

  • steal one object at a time, leave objects for your friends

  • keep away from the walls to avoid damaging the lasers and alarm system

  • under 18s should be supervised by an adult

Prices

  • £20 per person for 60 minutes (minimum booking of 2 people, maximum of 10)

For bookings of more than 10 people please get in touch via events@affg.co.uk to book a private session. Typically for more than 10 people we advise booking additional activities so the group can split up and start doing different activities. Pair airsoft shooting with the laser maze for the perfect action hero day (the spy package).

The laser maze is our only uninstructed activity, after the induction and safety briefing the session is yours to play the game and complete the challenges, but there is no instructor present after the induction.

Our laser maze is a custom designed system, as such it is subject to occasionally needing to be closed for some quick maintenance. If the laser maze for any reason isn’t working or needs to be closed you may just have to wait temporarily for the issue to be fixed, if for any reason the maze isn’t working you will receive a full refund, or be given the option to transfer your booking to another activity, you will always be given as much notice as possible.

There is no set age limit for the laser maze, but most likely 8+years for maximum enjoyment. Though be warned many 8-10 year olds love setting off the alarm as many times as possible rather than tackling the challenge of avoiding the beams. So if you’re bringing a younger group it’s worth bearing in mind as the alarm is loud.

The laser maze does use a lot of smoke to make the lasers visible so worth consulting a gp for anyone with respiratory conditions or asthma.

We recommend 2-10 players for maximum enjoyment so each person gets a good few goes, but minimising time for people waiting and watching. The laser maze is bookable for a minimum of 2 people, a maximum of 10 players.

All of our activity sessions begin with a thorough safety briefing, which starts at the scheduled session time, this briefing is part of the overall session duration.

We are open 6 days a week from Tuesday to Sunday, typically opening hours are 12-7pm on weekdays, 12-5pm on weekends. Booking in advance is essential. We can host groups of up to 30 people for birthday parties, stag and hen groups as well as teambuilding away days (we can manage larger groups but additional staff are required so get in touch to discuss your needs) . We have packages available for multi-activity days - by booking multiple activities online these discounts are applied automatically by adding multiple activities to your basket with the ‘add more’ button. For groups larger than 10 people, and for availability not listed on our booking site please email us at events@affg.co.uk for a private session.

Our centre is on private land, hence bookings must be made in advance prior to the day, we cannot accept people turning up on the day without a booking.
